Volume 1: a Foolish Faerietale

The InubuYAKasha Companion; Random facts and Information.

1#
MONGOLIA, TIBET AND NEPAL

There’s a certain glaring continuity error in InubuYAKasha, mostly in the early series. We tend to lump Mongolia, Nepal and Tibet into one place. This is glaringly wrong, because while Mongolia is situated to the north of China, in an area known as the Gobi Desert (I think that’s where some of the first Dinosaur bones were found), Tibet is on a mountainous area known as the Tibetan plateau about 500 miles south. Nepal is an area of the Himalayas between India and Tibet with a very odd shaped flag. We tend to talk about Nepal more often now that we have educated ourselves. It’s my favourite of the three because in my DK children’s picture atlas, with all the pictures they could have used to illustrate the cultures and practises of Nepal, they chose Mount Everest… and a Yak. Surely there must be more to the country than that??? Tibet and Mongolia also had Yaks in their picture maps, as well as Mongolian cowboys and Tibetan monks, but loads of other stuff too! There was also Yak butter. Strangely enough, there were no Yaks in China; the closest they got was a water buffalo. So I guess for InubuYAKasha purposes, you have to pretend China doesn’t exist. Come on, its not that hard, there’s only 9,596,961sq km of it…

Please get your own children's atlas, and learn facts about these places, preferably an atlas thats so old it's still got the USSR on it, because its fun. Grownup atlases are boring, they don't tell you where in the world you can find yaks, I mean, it's essential info...

2# Species of Faerie.
Whilst all the supernatural flora, fauna and people of Cabbage’s Kingdom come under the umberella term of ‘Faery’ there are many denominations and ranks. I just want to point this out so you don't just think im inconsistent.
Elves.
These are the Classiest and most magical inhabitants of Faerie, and tend to be the ones in charge. They are freakishly tall and slim with skin and hair of almost any colour. They also usually have wings. There are several major families, all of whom may compete for the throne if the ruling family has no heir. Currently the Flower Elves are in charge, led by Cabbage.

Flower Elves.
Cabbage (The Cabbage Faery)
Flibbage (Who knows what she’s in charge of?)
Cablim (Another one with no real purpose)
Bicaflamimiflagimoflimimbage ( Too young to be a patron)
Florz (Chief Faery of Minor Flowers and Official Nutcase)
Campfy (Faery of Landscape Architecture)
Flamilla (The Extremely Minor Faery of Moss)
Flemilleef (W(h)ine Faery)

Animal Elves.
Phneighly (Animal Faery and Kung-shoe initiative))
Flynn (As he was enchanted to look like a mule)

Floweron (Lord of the Thing, but not the Thing we’re after)
Heath (Gorgeous but brainless waiter at Floweron’s pizza service)

Imps.
Smaller and furnished with small horns, these Faeries are a lot more mischievous and tend to cause a lot of trouble.
Phat (Guardian of Christmas trees and Hip Hop)(Later becomes an Aerie (a faerie angel))
Fjenny & Flelen (Twins, scarily athletic and strong, keepers of fiendish ninja hampsters.)
Flathryn. (Scrabble Faery)
Izoberupurentisu (Innuendo Imp, always followed by her faithful companion Tomato Dog)

Nymphs.
Sex-obsessed faeries, who just can’t keep their hands off the opposite sex. Most people just find them annoying. Physically indistinguishable from Faeries, they are known for their weird hormonal behaviour.
Fled (Circus Faery)
Red (nominally, although she could be the Fée Verte as seen on bottles of absinthe, her official title is Court Identifier of Stuff)
Fleckini (Faery of Beige and badly designed skimpy clothing)
Flarry (Faery of Camp.)

Elementals
Fleeter (Washing up faery and therefore patron of water)
Galabrielle (Deceased Queen of Faerie, bringer of light)

Pixies

Although pixies aren't seen until Footloose, they are cross breeds between Elves and Imps.

Evil Campfy (Dark faery)
Kat. (Original Hardcore Faery of Pink Havok, Queen of the Faerie underworld) Not so much evil really as baaaaaad.

Tequila the alcohorse. Rescuer of people who are too sober for their own good.

Belinda the Belligerent Bee. Arch-nemesis of Flee!-Bee.

Mail Snail. Lives in an Apple Mac. Alerts you to incoming messages.

Snole. Brown and furry. Lives on a pole in a hole, near water, eats only water strawberries, gets angry if you step in his pond.
